TEXTILE DESIGN
Career Overview
In 2012, I began my journey as a Textile Designer by joining Surya. In 3 years, I was promoted to Senior Designer of soft goods in home decor, primarily rugs and pillows.
I traveled to trade shows such as High Point Furniture Market, Las Vegas, New York, and Heimtex + Domotex in Germany. I also traveled to the rug factories in India.
I've worked with licensors such as Candice Olson, Country Living, Mike Farrell, and Gluckstein Home on developing their rug and pillow collections. I also led the design and product development for Artistic Weavers, a brand of Surya focused on affordable price points and E-commerce channels.
In 2016, I joined Devgiri, another home décor company manufacturing out of India. I primarily worked on microfiber and outdoor rugs and was very excited that my patio rugs sold in Target stores!
I took a 3 year hiatus from Devgiri to get married in another location during which time I freelanced and licensed my surface pattern designs.
Window Curtains
In 2021, I rejoined Devgiri to launch a new product category: Window Curtains.
Building the line from scratch, I first focused on woven techniques and jacquard constructions. We quickly placed orders with Target and Home Goods and piqued the interest of other retailers.
Within a couple of years, we were also selling our window curtains as private label product with Lowes and Walmart!
